A Coimbatore to Madurai cab covers about 215 km in 4–4.5 hours, travelling south-east through Palladam, Dharapuram and Dindigul to the temple city. The route is mostly a good two- and four-lane highway with light traffic outside the towns. We also offer the alternative via Pollachi, Udumalpet and Palani for travellers who want to visit the Palani hill temple on the way.

One-way fares include fuel and driver allowance (minimum 130 km). Round-trip fares are for the same car returning to Coimbatore, billed at the round-trip rate with a daily minimum. Tolls, parking and interstate permits are extra where they apply. Tempo Travellers, Urbania and mini buses are available for round trips.
Leaving Coimbatore via Singanallur and Sulur, the road crosses Palladam's textile belt and continues through Dharapuram and Oddanchatram, a busy vegetable market town. At Dindigul it joins NH44 for the final hour to Madurai, passing Kodai Road and Vadipatti. The Pollachi–Palani alternative heads south first through coconut groves near the Anamalai hills, then east via Udumalpet to Palani and Dindigul. It is slightly longer but adds one of Tamil Nadu's most important pilgrim stops, and on clear days you can see the Western Ghats from the road.
This road is open all year. The main considerations are summer heat from March to June, when a dawn start is wise, and the occasional heavy downpour during the October–December northeast monsoon. Festival weekends add traffic near Madurai, so book ahead if you plan to travel then.
The highway is smooth enough for a sedan, while pilgrim families and groups often choose an Innova or Tempo Traveller. A sedan (Swift Dzire or Toyota Etios) is the practical choice for up to four people. Pick an Ertiga, Innova or Innova Crysta for families and extra bags, and a Tempo Traveller, Force Urbania or mini bus when the whole group wants to travel to Madurai together.
