Tirupati is close enough to Bangalore that many families do the whole pilgrimage, drive, darshan and return, within a single day and night. The temple town is about 250 km away along NH 75 through Kolar and Chittoor, usually a five to six hour drive. Our Bangalore to Tirupati cab is booked by everyone from young couples on a quick darshan to large joint families in a tempo traveller, and our drivers know the routine well: when to leave Bangalore, how long Alipiri takes, where to park at Tirumala and which temples to add on the way back.

One-way fares include fuel and driver allowance (minimum 130 km). Round-trip fares are for the same car returning to Bangalore, billed at the round-trip rate with a daily minimum. Tolls, parking and interstate permits are extra where they apply. Tempo Travellers, Urbania and mini buses are available for round trips.
Leave Bangalore around midnight or 1 am, reach Tirupati before dawn, go up to Tirumala for a morning darshan slot, and drive home in the afternoon. It is efficient, and very popular with working families, but it means a night without proper sleep. It suits younger travellers better than elderly parents.
Leave Bangalore in the morning, visit Kanipakam or Tiruchanur on the way, stay overnight in Tirupati or Tirumala, have darshan the next morning and return by evening. This is the most comfortable plan for most families.
Add Sri Kalahasti, the Golden Temple at Sripuram in Vellore or even Kanchipuram for a three-day temple circuit. Ask us for an itinerary.
From Bangalore the driver heads east to Hoskote and on to Kolar, then Mulbagal near the Andhra Pradesh border. The road then runs through Palamaner and past Chittoor before reaching Tirupati. Mulbagal's Kurudumale Ganapathi temple and the Kolaramma temple in Kolar are common quick stops. Breakfast and tea places are plentiful around Kolar and Palamaner.
The Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka temple at Kanipakam, a short detour near Chittoor, is believed to have a self-manifested idol of Lord Ganesha that continues to grow. Many pilgrims make it a point to stop here on the way to or from Tirumala. Allow an hour or more, depending on the queue.
Private taxis can take you up the ghat road from Tirupati after passing the Alipiri security checkpoint, where vehicles and bags are screened. The up and down ghat roads are separate. Some pilgrims choose to climb on foot instead, either via the Alipiri footpath or the shorter Srivari Mettu route, while the driver takes their bags up or waits below; let us know if that is your plan so we can arrange the meeting point.
TTD's special entry darshan tickets are released online in advance, and slots fill quickly, especially on weekends and festival days. Book these first, then fix the cab around your slot. Carry original ID for every person on the ticket and follow the dress code for the darshan type you have booked. Our coordinators will suggest a pickup time once they know your slot.
A Karnataka taxi entering Andhra Pradesh needs an interstate permit. We arrange it in advance and, along with tolls and any parking fees at Tirumala, it is normally listed separately from the base fare. Fuel and the driver allowance, including overnight stays on a two-day trip, are covered in the quote.
Weekends, school holidays, the annual Brahmotsavam and Vaikunta Ekadasi see the heaviest crowds, with long waits at Alipiri and in the queue complex. Weekdays in the cooler months are calmest. The summer heat in the plains around Tirupati can be intense from April to June, so an AC vehicle and plenty of water are a good idea.
If time allows, visit Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple at Tiruchanur or Sri Kalahasti before heading home. Drivers usually aim to be out of Tirupati by mid-afternoon to reach Bangalore by late evening, avoiding the busiest part of the night on the city's eastern approaches.
A historic town on the route, known for the Kolaramma temple and nearby Kolar Gold Fields.
A border town with the Kurudumale Ganapathi temple, a traditional first stop for Tirupati pilgrims.
Home of the Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka temple, a short detour near Chittoor.
The foot of the Tirumala hills, with the vehicle checkpoint and the start of the main footpath.
An ancient Shiva temple north-east of Tirupati, often combined with the Tirumala visit.
