Our Coimbatore to Bangalore cab covers about 365 km in 6.5–7.5 hours on the four-lane NH544 and NH44 highways via Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Hosur. It is a fast, well-maintained route with plenty of food stops, suitable for business travel, airport drops at Kempegowda International Airport or family trips. A scenic alternative via Sathyamangalam and Mysore is also possible for travellers who prefer forest roads.

One-way fares are charged on at least 130 km. Round-trip fares are for the same car returning to Coimbatore (730 km over 2 days, with a daily minimum). Toll, parking and state permit are extra.
The road leaves Coimbatore past Neelambur and Avinashi, then crosses Perundurai and the Bhavani river near Erode on its way to Sankagiri and Salem. From Salem, NH44 heads north through Dharmapuri and the Thoppur ghat, a short hilly section, to Krishnagiri. Beyond Krishnagiri the highway reaches Hosur and the Karnataka border at Attibele, from where traffic thickens through Electronic City and Silk Board. For drops in north Bangalore or the airport, drivers may use the peripheral and ring roads to avoid the busiest junctions.
This road is open all year. The main considerations are summer heat from March to June, when a dawn start is wise, and the occasional heavy downpour during the October–December northeast monsoon. Festival weekends add traffic near Bangalore, so book ahead if you plan to travel then.
The highway is smooth and fast, so a sedan is comfortable for most travellers, with SUVs for larger families. Sedans such as the Swift Dzire and Toyota Etios suit couples and small families heading to Bangalore, while the Ertiga, Innova and Innova Crysta give extra legroom and boot space. Larger parties can book a Tempo Traveller 12+1, Force Urbania 16+1 or mini bus.
