Mysore sits at the centre of some of South India's best road trips. Within a few hours you can be in the coffee estates of Coorg, the tea gardens of Ooty, the forests of Wayanad or the temple towns of Hassan, and a full day's drive takes you to the coast, Chennai or Tirupati. Savari Holidays runs outstation cabs from Mysore to all of these places and many more, with sedans, MUVs and tempo travellers driven by verified, route-experienced drivers. Book a one-way drop or a round trip, get picked up at your door anywhere in Mysore, and call our team any time of day or night if you need help.
Geography does Mysore a lot of favours. It sits on the southern edge of the Deccan plateau, with the Western Ghats to the west and the Nilgiris to the south. That puts three states, dozens of hill stations and some of India's most important pilgrimage centres within a day's drive. Roads have improved a great deal too: the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway has made the run to Bangalore much quicker, and highways towards Hassan, Coorg and Tamil Nadu are in decent shape for most of the year.
Coorg is the closest hill escape, around three hours away with no forest checkpost on the main road. Ooty and Wayanad are similarly close but cross the Bandipur forest, where night traffic restrictions apply. Chikmagalur and Sakleshpur are four hours or so to the north-west, and Kabini, a short drive south, is one of the best places in India to see elephants and, with luck, leopards.
Tirupati is the most requested pilgrimage from Mysore, followed by Dharmasthala, Kukke Subramanya, Sringeri, Horanadu and Male Mahadeshwara Hills. Closer to home, Nanjangud and Melukote make easy half-day trips. Many families combine several temples into a single round trip.
Mangalore, Udupi, Kannur and Kozhikode are all reachable in a long day. The roads cross the Western Ghats through ghats such as Sampaje, Shiradi and Makutta, which are lush in the monsoon but need experienced drivers.
Bangalore is the most common destination of all, for work, flights, hospital visits and family. Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Hyderabad are long but popular when families are travelling with luggage or want door-to-door convenience.
A one-way drop is the right choice when you only need to get somewhere: catching a flight in Bangalore, moving to a new city, or reaching relatives who will look after you at the other end. You pay for the trip you take, and the driver makes his own way back.
A round trip makes more sense when the trip has several stops or you will be coming back with the same group. The car and driver stay with you throughout, so you are not searching for local taxis in a hill town or temple crowd. The driver's allowance for overnight stays is built into round-trip pricing, and you can change the plan along the way, within reason, by talking to your driver and our team.
The live fare table on this page shows the current rates for each vehicle, so you can compare before you book.
We believe in fares that are easy to understand. Your quoted fare includes fuel and the driver's allowance. Charges that depend on the route, such as tolls, parking, and state permits when you cross into Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh or Goa, are usually extra and shown separately. If you know you will need extra stops, waiting time or detours, mention them while booking so the quote reflects your real plan.
Several of the most beautiful routes from Mysore pass through protected forests. The highway through Bandipur towards Ooty and Wayanad, and the road through Sathyamangalam towards Coimbatore, have night traffic restrictions. Our coordinators plan pickup times so you cross these stretches in daylight. For ghat roads, such as the climb to Ooty or the descent to the coast, we assign drivers who know the road and suggest the right vehicle, since some ghats are not suitable for larger vehicles.
A driver who arrives on time. A car that is clean and in good condition. Someone to call if the plan changes at midnight. Clear information on what is and is not included. These are the basics we focus on, trip after trip. Our drivers are verified, our vehicles are maintained for highway use, and our support line runs 24x7.
Start early for long routes; most outstation drives from Mysore are more pleasant with a dawn departure. Keep ID, medicines and snacks in the cabin. For hill stations, carry a warm layer even in summer. And if you are travelling during Dasara, long weekends or school holidays, book a few days ahead, since demand for vehicles peaks at those times.
