Hassan is close enough to Mysore for a same-day return, yet it opens up a whole region: the Hoysala temples of Belur and Halebidu, the Jain hill of Shravanabelagola and the coffee and cardamom hills of Sakleshpur. The direct drive is about 120 km via KR Nagar and Holenarasipura and takes between two and a half and three hours. People book our Mysore to Hassan taxi for all sorts of reasons, from hospital appointments and college admissions to temple visits and family functions, and we tailor the trip to whichever it is, whether that means a quick drop or a full day out.

One-way fares include fuel and driver allowance (minimum 130 km). Round-trip fares are for the same car returning to Mysore, billed at the round-trip rate with a daily minimum. Tolls, parking and interstate permits are extra where they apply. Tempo Travellers, Urbania and mini buses are available for round trips.
Unlike the long hill and coastal routes from Mysore, the Hassan run is short and straightforward. That makes it flexible. Here are the kinds of trips we plan most often on this road, and how we approach each one.
Hassan has a large government medical college hospital and several private hospitals that serve the whole district. If you are travelling with a patient, tell us when you book. We can send a vehicle with more room, such as an Innova, and the driver can wait while you finish your appointment and bring you home the same day.
Hassan is home to engineering, medical and other colleges. During admission season, families travel together with boxes, buckets and mattresses for hostel rooms. An Ertiga or Innova with a roof carrier, or a tempo traveller for larger families, makes the move far easier than a bus.
Many Mysore families have roots in Hassan district, and functions in Hassan, Channarayapatna, Arkalgud or Holenarasipura are common. For a group, a Tempo Traveller 12+1 or Force Urbania keeps everyone together and saves the stress of coordinating several cars.
This is where the Hassan route really shines. Within an hour of Hassan town you have Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola, and in 2023 the Hoysala temples of Belur, Halebidu and Somanathapura were inscribed together as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The route leaves Mysore on the KRS Road side, passes through farmland to KR Nagar on the Kaveri, then follows the Hemavathi valley through Holenarasipura, with its Lakshmi Narasimha temple, before reaching Hassan. It is a two-lane state highway with village stretches, so the average speed is lower than on the expressway, but traffic is generally light. There is no forest section and no night closure.
An alternative goes through KR Pet and Channarayapatna, joining the Bengaluru–Mangaluru highway (NH 75). Drivers sometimes prefer it if you are headed to the eastern side of Hassan or want to stop at Shravanabelagola.
Because the drive is under three hours, a same-day round trip is very practical: leave Mysore at 7 am, spend the day in Hassan or at Belur and Halebidu, and be home by evening. If someone is picking you up in Hassan or you are staying on, a one-way drop works just as well.
Dzire and Etios for up to four people, Ertiga for six, Innova or Innova Crysta for a more comfortable ride with luggage or elderly passengers, and tempo travellers or a mini bus for groups.
The quoted fare includes fuel and the driver's allowance. There is no interstate permit on this route. Parking at Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola is collected locally and is extra. If you want to add stops, just tell us at the time of booking so the quote reflects the actual plan. Our support line on +91 99725 37722 is open round the clock if anything changes on the day.
