Srirangapatna is one of those places many visitors only glimpse from a car window on the way to Mysore. If you are flying into Bengaluru specifically for the Ranganathaswamy temple, a family ritual at the Kaveri sangama or a day among Tipu Sultan's monuments, a direct cab from Kempegowda International Airport is the simplest way to get there. The island town lies about 170 km from KIA, and the drive normally takes three and a half to four hours. Savari Holidays meets you at arrivals, keeps an eye on your flight and drives you straight to your temple, hotel or riverside homestay.

One-way fares are charged on at least 130 km. Round-trip fares are for the same car returning to Bangalore Airport (340 km over 1 day, with a daily minimum). Toll, parking and state permit are extra.
For many families in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Srirangapatna is a pilgrimage in its own right. The Sri Ranganathaswamy temple here is revered as Adi Ranga, the first of the three great Ranganatha shrines along the Kaveri. Others come for history: this was the capital of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan, and the fort walls, the Gumbaz mausoleum and the Daria Daulat Bagh summer palace still tell the story of the Anglo-Mysore wars. Then there are the rituals. Many families travel here to perform last rites or immerse ashes at the Paschimavahini ghats or the sangama, where the river branches meet. These trips are often planned at short notice, and a reliable airport cab matters.
Your cab leaves Devanahalli on the airport road and NH 44. Depending on the hour, the driver either continues through Hebbal and the western Outer Ring Road or takes a wider loop to join NICE Road, which links to Mysuru Road without entering the central business district.
From Kengeri the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway carries you past Ramanagara and Mandya. Srirangapatna has its own exit, so there is no need to go into Mysore and double back. The town itself is compact; the temple, fort and ghats are all within a few kilometres of each other.
Temples in the region usually close for a few hours in the afternoon and reopen in the evening. If your flight lands in the morning, you can reach Srirangapatna before the midday closure. For afternoon arrivals, plan on evening darshan. Our team can suggest a realistic schedule once we know your landing time. If you are carrying items for a ritual, mention it so the driver keeps them safe and accessible.
Since the drive is relatively short, many travellers use the same cab for a few hours of local sightseeing after arrival. A typical loop covers:
From here, Brindavan Gardens at the KRS dam and Mysore city are both short drives if you want to extend the trip.
Couples and small families usually choose a Swift Dzire or Toyota Etios. Extended families travelling for a ceremony often need more seats, and an Ertiga, Innova or Innova Crysta keeps elders comfortable with legroom and air conditioning. When an entire family group lands together, a Tempo Traveller or Force Urbania is more practical than several cars, and everyone arrives at the ghat at the same time.
The best time to visit Srirangapatna is from October to March, when the weather is mild and Ranganathittu is busy with migratory and nesting birds. Summer afternoons can be hot, so carry water and plan outdoor monuments for the morning. If you are visiting during a festival or on a weekend, expect crowds at the temple and allow extra time. Accommodation in the town itself is limited to a few hotels and riverside resorts, so many visitors stay in Mysore and treat Srirangapatna as the first stop of the day.
