Coorg has no airport of its own, so most visitors to Kodagu fly into Bengaluru and finish the journey by road. A Savari Holidays cab from Kempegowda International Airport takes you all the way to your resort, homestay or coffee estate, about 300 km away in Madikeri. Plan on six and a half to seven and a half hours, depending on traffic and where exactly in Coorg you are staying. We track your flight, meet you at arrivals and send drivers who are comfortable on the narrow plantation roads that lead to many of the district's best stays.

One-way fares include fuel and driver allowance (minimum 130 km). Round-trip fares are for the same car returning to Bangalore Airport, billed at the round-trip rate with a daily minimum. Tolls, parking and interstate permits are extra where they apply. Tempo Travellers, Urbania and mini buses are available for round trips.
Coorg trips usually start with a long road journey, and how that journey goes often sets the tone for the holiday. Booking an airport cab in advance spares you the rental counter and the uncertainty of finding a driver willing to go into the hills. It also means one vehicle, one driver and no transfers until you reach your accommodation.
From Devanahalli the driver follows NH 44 towards the city and then uses the Outer Ring Road or NICE Road to reach Mysuru Road. Picking the right bypass at the right time of day is the single biggest factor in total journey time.
The Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway gets you past Ramanagara, Maddur and Mandya quickly. Near Srirangapatna, the cab leaves the expressway and skirts Mysore city on the ring road, heading for Hunsur.
NH 275 continues through Hunsur and Periyapatna to Bylakuppe, the Tibetan settlement just before Kushalnagar. From Kushalnagar the road climbs gradually through coffee and pepper country to Madikeri. This last section is narrower and slower, especially after dark.
Coorg is a district, not a single town, and properties are scattered widely. The route changes slightly based on your destination:
Tell us your flight number and terminal. The driver checks the landing time, waits at the arrivals pickup area and calls you once you are out. For international flights, allow for immigration and baggage time; the driver will be in touch throughout. We operate 24x7, but for this route we gently recommend a daytime arrival in Coorg. Wildlife sometimes crosses roads near forest patches, and fog on hill roads can reduce visibility at night.
Hill roads, estate tracks and the possibility of rain make SUVs a popular choice. An Ertiga, Innova or Innova Crysta gives better ground clearance and room for a week's luggage. Couples travelling light do perfectly well in a Swift Dzire or Toyota Etios. Wedding parties and corporate offsites heading to Coorg's large resorts often book a Tempo Traveller or Force Urbania so the whole group arrives together.
October to March is the most comfortable period, with clear skies and cool evenings. March and April bring the coffee blossom, when estates fill with white flowers and a jasmine-like scent. The monsoon, from June to September, is spectacular for waterfalls and greenery but brings heavy rain, leeches on trails and occasional road disruptions. Our drivers keep an eye on local conditions and adjust the route if needed.
For your flight home, allow a generous buffer. Leaving Coorg early in the morning and building in time for traffic on the Bengaluru side is the safest approach for afternoon and evening departures. If your flight is very early, some travellers spend the last night in Mysore to shorten the final drive.
Coorg's sights are spread across the district, and local transport between them is limited. Many guests keep the airport cab for the length of their stay, or book a separate sightseeing day with us once they have settled in. A full day can cover Abbey Falls, Raja's Seat, the Omkareshwara temple and Madikeri Fort, while another day might head south to Iruppu Falls or west to Talakaveri and Bhagamandala.

Madikeri, the main town in Coorg, is about 300 km from Kempegowda International Airport. The drive usually takes six and a half to seven and a half hours.
Yes. Share the location pin and your host's directions while booking. Our drivers regularly handle narrow estate roads, and they will call the host if the last stretch is unclear.
For Virajpet, Gonikoppal or Kutta, drivers often turn off towards Gonikoppal from Hunsur or Periyapatna instead of going through Kushalnagar. The best option depends on your exact property.
It is a good idea if you have a lot of luggage or are staying on an estate with rough access. For couples headed to a hotel in Madikeri or Kushalnagar, a sedan is perfectly fine.
Yes. It sits right beside the route near Kushalnagar, so a stop of an hour or so adds very little distance. Let us know when booking.
