Bangalore and Coimbatore are linked by one of South India's busiest highway corridors, and a cab is often the most practical way to make the trip, especially when you are travelling with family, carrying samples for a client or heading to a campus with luggage. The usual route follows NH 44 to Salem and then NH 544 past Erode and Tiruppur, roughly 365 km in about seven hours. Unlike the hill routes from Bangalore, this road has no forest closure, so day and night departures are equally possible. Our Bangalore to Coimbatore cab comes with drivers who know the corridor well.

One-way fares are charged on at least 130 km. Round-trip fares are for the same car returning to Bangalore (730 km over 2 days, with a daily minimum). Toll, parking and state permit are extra.
This is a wide, divided highway for almost the whole distance, which makes for steady progress and predictable timings. The main variable is getting out of Bangalore: from Electronic City or Sarjapur you are on Hosur Road in minutes, while pickups from the north and west of the city need extra time.
A shorter road on paper runs via Kanakapura, Kollegal, Chamarajanagar and the Dhimbam ghat to Sathyamangalam and on to Coimbatore. It is quieter and greener but slower, with two-lane stretches and a forest section where night traffic restrictions apply. We use it only on request and with a morning departure.
Our Bangalore to Coimbatore bookings come from a broad mix of travellers:
Coimbatore and Tiruppur are major centres for textiles, garments, pumps, motors and engineering. Executives often book a sedan for a same-day meeting and return, or a round trip covering several factory visits across the region.
The city has a large number of engineering, medical and arts colleges. Admission and hostel move-in days see families travelling with a carful of belongings, for which an Innova or Ertiga is ideal.
Coimbatore's hospitals draw patients from across the region. We can send a spacious car and plan rest breaks for patients travelling after treatment.
The Isha Yoga Centre and Adiyogi statue on the city's western edge are a major draw, especially around Mahashivratri, when the crowds are enormous.
Because there is no forest section on the main route, you can leave Bangalore at any hour. Early departures between 4 and 6 am bring you into Coimbatore by early afternoon; overnight departures reach by morning, handy for a meeting or a college reporting time. For overnight trips we assign drivers who are rested and familiar with the highway.
This route crosses into Tamil Nadu soon after Electronic City, so an interstate permit is required. There are also several toll plazas along NH 44 and NH 544. Both the permit and tolls are usually listed separately from the base fare; fuel and the driver allowance are included.
Coimbatore is a jumping-off point for several onward trips. Ooty and Coonoor are up the ghat from Mettupalayam; Valparai and the Anamalai hills are reached via Pollachi; and Palakkad and the rest of Kerala lie just across the Palghat gap. If you are planning a longer journey, ask for a multi-day round trip so the same car and driver stay with you.
For one or two business travellers, a Dzire or Etios is efficient and comfortable on the highway. For families and anyone spending seven hours in the car, the Innova Crysta is noticeably more relaxing. Groups for weddings or temple visits can book a tempo traveller or mini bus.
The plains between Krishnagiri and Erode get very hot from March to June, so AC is worth having and midday stops should be in shade. The north-east monsoon in October and November can bring heavy showers around Salem and Erode, slowing traffic for short spells.
A highway town known for its mango orchards and reservoir, a common breakfast stop.
A large city roughly halfway to Coimbatore, known for steel, mangoes and the Yercaud hills nearby.
A town with a hill fort where the route turns west towards Erode and Coimbatore.
India's knitwear capital, home to hundreds of garment exporters.
A temple town on the highway known for the Avinashilingeswarar temple.
