A Hyderabad to Bangalore cab covers about 570 km in 9.5–10.5 hours on NH44, the four-lane highway that runs south across the Deccan plateau through Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and into Karnataka. Major stops include Jadcherla, Kurnool and Anantapur. It is a long but straightforward drive, popular with families relocating, travellers with heavy luggage and groups who prefer one vehicle door to door.

One-way fares are charged on at least 130 km. Round-trip fares are for the same car returning to Hyderabad (1140 km over 3 days, with a daily minimum). Toll, parking and state permit are extra.
Leaving Hyderabad via Shamshabad, the highway runs south through Jadcherla and Kothakota to the Krishna river crossing and Kurnool, the first major city in Andhra Pradesh. From Kurnool it continues through Dhone, Gooty and Anantapur, with the granite hills of the Rayalaseema region along the way. Beyond Penukonda the road reaches the Karnataka border near Bagepalli and runs past Chikkaballapur and Devanahalli into Bangalore, which makes airport drops especially convenient. The highway is wide and well maintained, so the main factors are breaks and city traffic at each end.
The Deccan plateau gets very hot from April to early June, so a pre-dawn departure from Hyderabad is strongly recommended on this long highway run. The monsoon is moderate on this route, and the winter months from November to February are the most comfortable for a full day on the road.
For ten hours on the road, an Innova Crysta or Innova is strongly recommended for families. Choose a Swift Dzire or Etios for light luggage and up to four travellers, an Ertiga or Innova for six to seven, or an Innova Crysta when you want the most comfortable ride over 570 km. Tempo Travellers, the Force Urbania and mini buses cover group trips.
