A Mangalore to Bangalore cab climbs from the Arabian Sea coast onto the Deccan plateau, covering roughly 350 km in 7–8 hours. The usual road is NH75 through Uppinangady, the Shiradi Ghat, Sakleshpur and Hassan, with the Charmadi or Sampaje ghats as alternatives when Shiradi is under repair. Our drivers know all three ghats and pick the best-open route on the day, whether you need a one-way drop to the city or a round trip.

One-way fares are charged on at least 130 km. Round-trip fares are for the same car returning to Mangalore (700 km over 2 days, with a daily minimum). Toll, parking and state permit are extra.
Leaving Mangalore, the road runs east past BC Road and Uppinangady, where the Netravati and Kumaradhara rivers meet, before entering the dense forest of the Shiradi Ghat. Once on top, the coffee and pepper country around Sakleshpur gives way to the open farmland of Hassan and Channarayapatna. From there NH75 is a fast four-lane run via Kunigal and Nelamangala into Bangalore. If Shiradi is closed for maintenance or monsoon slips, drivers switch to Charmadi Ghat via Ujire and Mudigere, or the Sampaje route through Madikeri and Mysore, which adds distance but keeps the trip moving.
From June to September the Western Ghats receive some of the heaviest rain in India, and the ghat section of the Mangalore–Bangalore road can be slowed or briefly closed by slips. Drivers check road status before departure. The dry months from October to March give clearer views and faster travel.
The ghat climb is easiest in a vehicle with good ground clearance, so many families choose an SUV on this route. Sedans such as the Swift Dzire and Toyota Etios suit couples and small families heading to Bangalore, while the Ertiga, Innova and Innova Crysta give extra legroom and boot space. Larger parties can book a Tempo Traveller 12+1, Force Urbania 16+1 or mini bus.
