A Coorg to Mysore cab is a short, pleasant descent from Madikeri's coffee hills to the palace city, covering around 120 km in about 3 hours. The road runs along NH275 via Kushalnagar, Bylakuppe and Hunsur. It is ideal for travellers ending a Coorg holiday with a day of sightseeing in Mysore, or heading on to Mysore Junction or the Bangalore highway.

One-way fares are charged on at least 130 km. Round-trip fares are for the same car returning to Coorg (240 km over 1 day, with a daily minimum). Toll, parking and state permit are extra.
From Madikeri the road winds down through coffee and pepper estates to Suntikoppa and Kushalnagar, where the Kaveri river forms the boundary with Mysore district. Just beyond lies Bylakuppe, home to the gilded Namdroling Monastery. The landscape then opens into farmland, tobacco fields and small towns around Periyapatna and Hunsur before the road enters Mysore from the west. Traffic is usually light until the outskirts of the city, making this one of the easiest hill-to-plain drives in Karnataka.
Weather rarely disrupts this route. The June–September monsoon brings regular showers and the odd waterlogged stretch, while October to February is cool and clear. Around Dasara and long weekends, traffic near Mysore and Bangalore builds, so allow extra time beyond the usual 3 hours.
Most couples and small families find a sedan perfectly comfortable on this short, well-surfaced route. Choose a Swift Dzire or Etios for light luggage and up to four travellers, an Ertiga or Innova for six to seven, or an Innova Crysta when you want the most comfortable ride over 120 km. Tempo Travellers, the Force Urbania and mini buses cover group trips.
